How to Back Up and Restore DukaanMatic Local

Save dated Local backups, keep a separate copy and check the restore preview before replacing a workspace.

Download a current Local backup

Open Data Storage and use the backup download action after finishing your current work. Local-plan backup downloads are free. Use a dated filename so the correct recovery point is easy to identify.

Store it away from the working device

Keep another copy on protected storage separate from the shop computer. Downloaded JSON backups are readable files, so control access and use suitable storage protection.

Preview before restoring

Choose the supported DukaanMatic backup file and review the changes shown by the restore preview. Restoration replaces business data on the computer; a safety copy is saved first. Do not use a normal restore as a shortcut around the Local-to-Cloud migration workflow.

Test your recovery plan

Periodically check a backup on a suitable test workspace before an emergency. A backup you have never verified may be incomplete or out of date. Cloud snapshots and Cloud-to-Local archives follow their separate plan and download-fee rules.
