A Daily Invoice Review Checklist for Your Shop

Use a short daily review to catch missing references, incorrect quantities and unsettled balances before they become harder to trace.

1. Check the business and customer details

Confirm that the invoice identifies the correct business and customer. Check the document date, numbering and any tax details relevant to the transaction. Keep an understandable reference to the original document when correcting a record.

2. Review items and amounts

Check quantities, units, prices and discounts against the actual sale. Review the tax treatment configured for each item with your accountant where needed. Confirm that the final amount matches what the customer was charged.

3. Match the settlement

Separate paid sales from customer credit. Match recorded receipts to the relevant invoices and payment modes. Investigate outstanding or duplicate entries before closing the day.

4. Keep the record trail

Check returns and credit notes alongside the original sales. Export or back up current records after completing the review. This is a workflow checklist, not a substitute for the tax rules applicable to your business.
